For decades, the Fogelman College of Business and Economics (FCBE) has been recruiting, educating and cultivating the best and brightest. Our 30,000+ alumni have made a great impact in their business communities and our faculty have made invaluable advancements in their fields of study. While we are extremely proud of our exemplary history, our physical location – specifically, our building – does not reflect the forward-thinking, innovative and collaborative vision of its tenants.

It is time for change.

The state of Tennessee has allocated $25 million towards a major renovation to transform our current business school buildings into a state-of-the-art academic and research center. In addition to these funds, we are aspiring to raise an additional $75+ million in donor funding to supplement this dramatic physical transformation.

Where We're Going

Embodying all things bright, bold and boundless, the new Robert and Avron Fogelman Business Complex is set out to be a state-of-the-art hub available to students, faculty, staff, alumni and Memphis professionals.

Addition

While our two existing buildings are being completely redesigned, we are also excited to share that we are adding a third building which will serve as a connector of the previously disjointed facilities. This new addition is designed to promote collaboration and visibility between student and faculty. This space will also be the home for a large, airy commons area which will promote connectivity among all its users.

Exterior

The new exterior of the Avron and Robert Fogelman Business Complex will showcase impressive curb appeal on the highly-populated corner of Central Avenue and Patterson Street. The design will be reflective of the modern and new-age activity going on inside. Not only will its sleek modern design catch the eye, but the number of windows will provide an immense amount of natural light within.

Interior

The interior of the building will follow a student-centric flow. The new and varied classroom formats, cutting-edge technology labs, innovation centers and large performance spaces/lecture halls are all being designed to ensure the best possible learning experience. Some of the new improvements will include:

  • Case Study Classrooms
  • Flat Flex Classrooms
  • Computer + Center Innovation Labs
  • Executive Conference Center
  • Event + Training Theater
  • Large Lecture Halls
  • International Food Cafe + Coffee Bar
  • Student Study-Pods
  • Large Living Space + Common Area

The Time To Invest is Now

Our buildings are showing the effects of their age and heavy usage. The building modernization plan is not a simple band-aid fix, but rather a complete overhaul to existing space and construction for a new third building. These upgrades will move our college into the future. Consider an investment today in our students, our college, our university and our community. Let’s work together to elevate FCBE and create spaces to encourage collaboration, confidence and, ultimately, produce the next generation of leaders for a vibrant business community.
